3 DAYS OF Mandarin FUN FOR YOUR LITTLE ONE
Theme: Mandarin Kids Club
Dates: August 13th to August 15th, 2025
Time: 9:30 AM – 2:30 PM
Availability: 12 children maximum, so be quick to secure your child's place!
Costs: Two options
- Option 1): 9:30-12pm £20 per child - Mandarin language & role play related activities only
- Option 2): 9:30-2:30pm £40 per child - Mandarin language focused in the morning and arts & crafts / games / singing in the afternoon
What to Bring
- Water bottle & nut-free snack for break or bring your own lunch for full day.
3 DAYS MANDARIN CLUB - morning or full day
Day 1: "你好，China!" (Hello, China!)

Language Goals: Greetings, numbers 1–10, simple self-introduction
Cultural Focus: Geography of China, Chinese names, and traditions
Activities:
Warm-Up: Mandarin name tag game
- Lesson: Learn greetings - how to introduce yourself (你好, 你叫什么名字？我叫…) and numbers 1–10
- Craft: Make a Chinese flag & Chinese name badge
- Song: “Numbers Song” in Mandarin
- Game: Bingo (with Mandarin numbers)
- Reflection: Draw yourself with your Chinese name
Day 2: "吃吃吃！" (Let’s Eat!)
Day 1: "你好，China!" (Hello, China!)
Language Goals: Food vocabulary, expressing likes/dislikes
Cultural Focus: Chinese food, chopstick use
Activities:
Review Day 1
- Warm-Up: Pass-the-food word game
- Lesson: Key food words (米饭, 面条, 包子, 水, etc.) + 我喜欢 / 我不喜欢…
- Cultural Craft: Make mini clay dumplings or paper baozi
- Drama: Act out a restaurant scene using Mandarin
- Song: “吃饭歌” (Eating Song)
- Game: "Market race" – food word matching with pictures
- Reflection: Draw and label your favourite Chinese meal
Day 3: "我们是朋友" (We Are Friends)

Language Goals: Describing people (我有…, 他是…), friendship terms
Cultural Focus: Chinese festivals (e.g. Mid-Autumn Festival), lanterns
Activities:
- Warm-Up: Friendship matching game in Mandarin
- Lesson: Learn family & friend words (朋友, 家人, 他, 她, etc.)
- Craft: Make a paper lantern for the Moon Festival
- Drama: Group skit – "Making a New Friend"
- Song: “Twinkle Twinkle Little Star” in Mandarin
- Game: “Guess Who?” – describing a classmate in Mandarin
- Reflection: Friendship card in Mandarin to another student
