Safeguarding Procedures

Learn Eat & Play (LEAP) Centre provides a safe and supportive environment for home-educated children to engage in educational activities. Our safeguarding procedures are designed to ensure the well-being of all children attending their sessions.

Safeguarding Procedures at LEAP Centre

DBS Checks for All Staff

All staff members undergo enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checks to ensure they are suitable to work with children. This is a standard practice to safeguard children from potential harm.

Exclusive Learning and Mock Exam Sessions

LEAP offers exclusive learning and mock exam sessions, meaning that only the specific event is taking place at that time, and the venue is not accessible to the general public. This approach helps maintain a controlled and secure environment for the children.

Safeguarding as a Top Priority

As a family-run business, LEAP places safeguarding as their top priority. They are committed to providing a safe and supportive environment for all children attending their sessions.

Tailored Activities for Home-Educated Children

LEAP offers a range of activities tailored for home-educated children, including Primary & Secondary tutoring, A-level & IB tutoring, and mock exams. These activities are designed to support the educational needs of home-educated children in a safe and structured environment.

Parental Involvement and Communication

LEAP's approach to safeguarding suggests an environment where communication with parents is valued. This includes keeping parents informed about their child's participation and any relevant activities.

Additional Safeguarding Best Practices

LEAP's best practices include:

  • Staff Training: Regular training on safeguarding and child protection for all staff members.
  • Clear Reporting Procedures: Established procedures for staff to report any concerns regarding child welfare.
  • Risk Assessments: Regular risk assessments of activities and environments to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
  • Parental Consent: Obtaining parental consent for participation in activities and excursions.
  • Emergency Procedures: Clear procedures for dealing with emergencies, including first aid and evacuation plans.
